SMC has provided a $18,600,000 first mortgage loan to recapitalize the owner of Sedano’s Plaza, a 129,740 square foot grocery-anchored retail shopping center located in Miami Lakes, FL. The anchor tenant is Sedano’s Supermarket, the largest Hispanic-owned grocer in the U.S. with 34 locations throughout Florida. The collateral includes a three-story office outparcel which will serve as the corporate headquarters of Horizon Management, and will also feature a GuideWell Sanitas. GuideWell-Sanitas is a new joint venture between Organizacion Sanitas Internacional and Florida Blue (GuideWell) which will be one of three pilot healthcare clinics providing primary care, select specialty care, walk-in care, lab diagnostic and pharmacy services targeted to Hispanic patients.
